Did you miss that you can refill your health by leveling up? So you hit 4-5, get enough xp, level up, that gives you another five hearts to work with. The cost to level up keeps rising, but you also gain total hearts as you do. By the end of a full clear you're working with 15hp.
Other than that, main thing is that there's rules to where things are placed. Different creatures have different rules, figuring them out can let you know things that you couldn't just from basic minesweeper rules. Look at the screen after losing, you'll start noticing patterns.
I forgot to take a screenshot but I *swear* I had an instance where I had a right-facing gargoyle but no left-facing partner; instead I had one of the red 7-health monsters. Some weird hiccup of the way they're programmed?
Ok, that's AMAZING, I've been plating this for months, Since ver1 and forever after the update, got the cheat code an all to study and master n'shit ..... and I NEVER not once EVER noticed the red eye looking at the Gargoyle's partner. Thats so sick, I love it and I THANK YOU.
Hi - can't figure out how to contact the developer directly. I bought the game, downloaded and extracted, and when I run index.html I just get a screen of lines. The music starts but nothing else. Screenshot attached. I've tried it in every browser. Suggestions?
DragonSweeper is such an amazing game! If anyone else out there is like me and played the crap out of it and wanted more, I funneled that energy into creating a replica with more content and achievements. There's an Android version as well. Come check it out!
the egg doesnt tell you when you get it, and its worth "0" points. the only goal involving the egg is winning without collecting it, which involves beating the game avoiding the eight spots around the dragon. hope this helped
I'm not sure what you mean by "0" points. It gives you 3 points, and is critical for going for maximum ending health (best I've done is 13 hearts left, which requires getting the Dragon Egg, all gold treasures, and the Gnome before using a heart).
You need to get a lot of gold and other "points for no hp", as early as possible - that means each Heart gives you more total HP. Getting the mine king as soon as you have 10hp is an important one, then hitting all the mines you can find, but there's still some luck.
The best I've gotten is 13 hearts left. I think this may be the highest possible. In order to do it you have to get ALL the gold treasure chests and the gnome (and the Dragon Egg) before using a single heart. It's not so easy, but I once got super lucky and I was in the groove, and managed to finish with 13 hearts left in only 36 seconds. Usually I take a LOT longer with a lot of really awkward mental logic and still taking some risks.
The main "trick" to getting 13 is just knowing it's possible in the first place. For the longest time I thought maybe 10 was the best possible, and I only rarely got it. I would sometimes get 8, sometimes even 9, but 10 was very rare. My mind was blown the first time I got 13. But since then, I've gotten 13 sometimes simply because I knew it was possible.
13 is indeed the theoretical best possible. Playing 100% optimally in cheat mode (getting the egg, gold chests, and gnome very first thing, getting the wizard and all the mines as soon as you get 10 hearts, and not touching any brick walls until the very end) that’s all you get.

Cool game but it's not generous enough with non-lethal tiles. I can barely get up to 4 or 5 "moves" ever. What am I missing?

I did MISS that I can level up! Thx!

There seems to be rare errors with the rightmost column. Was that where the gargoyle was missing from?
That's exactly where it was, yeah. I didn't realise that this was a known thing.

I haven't bought it, i play the free web based itch.io version.
This also happens to me once in a while, a refresh fixes it everytime.
I'm sure you tried it, but maybe the information helps you solve the problem
hi! the exact same thing happens to me to....let me know if you find out how to fix it 🥲
i mannaged to get 3 stamps in the same run but it reloaded ):

THANK YOU!!! This is exactly what I've been waiting for!
No problem! Have fun! :D
GG
How do I get the egg??
The dragon egg is always in one of the 8 neighbors around the dragon.
Yeah that part I figured it out.. But whenever I get the 8 ones, there's no egg. It seems to only appear if I lose the game

No way!! Now I get why I couldn't find it
Now I noticed the broken egg icon. I was playing in my cellphone so the icons were too small
Good, sticky game! :)
This game is amazing!!
There isn't a day that goes by that I don't play it before dinner. I still haven't been able to beat the dragon :(
How do i get a perfect score, the best score i can achieve is 364 (I think 365 is the max)
I haven't wasted a single point of health, I'm wondering what's making my runs different when i never waste health.

Makes sense, thanks!
I've been playing for months, LITERALY months, so adictive.... My best 100% had 8 hearts left.... anyone else do beter? Is it possible to get 9?
