Did I say I would bow out at 298? Yes.
Was this game too much fun to make myself a liar?
…
Did I keep going until Jorge cleared the entire board?
yes of course I did.
I really enjoyed the little discoveries you make along the way, learning more about how the board works. After I beat it, I finally realized who the author was! Thank you for Fidel Dungeon Rescue!
Small issue: the game sometimes slows down when you are able to level up but are still using hearts. I assume related to multiple animations, as it clears up as soon as you do level up.
Also can someone tell me what the occasional chirp when revealing an empty tile means? EDIT: I just made the connection on this one... obvious in hindsight that it's only empty tiles, but this seems more like flavor than some sort of indicator like I thought it was (unless perhaps, there is a meta-strategy possible).
Color the cleared number floor tiles differently, when all the surrounding numbers add up to match? For example, here I've marked a square with a 4, so now the 16 should light up (as its adjacent numbers add up to 16 now) and that would hint to me later that I could click its surroundings safely to advance
When you click to Level Up but have no hearts, the adventurer temporarily regains clothing to shake his head...
I think revealing the gnome with the crystal ball caused it to give me 0 gold! What a ripoff! Never mind - revealing the gnome with the orb causes him to run to another empty space. You can find him again and this time claim your 10 gold.
This game is by far my favorite Minesweeper variant, and I could talk all about how much I enjoy it. However, there's been plenty of glowing reviews, so how about I discuss some of the things I'd add or change?
1. Mobile support. Allow the game to format properly on Mobile and add a button to the UI to toggle between checking and marking spaces.
2. More board sizes/difficulties. While the game is fun, it isn't exactly difficult. I can consistently get wins with 303 score, and challenge runs can only go so far. The game may need adjusted leveling or a raised level cap/stronger enemies to compensate.
3. More items. You have the healing scrolls, the reveal scroll, and the enemy scrolls. Why is it just that? Add an armor scroll that gives you x amount of temporary HP, or an item that lets you take 1 less damage per attack, or an item that lets you reveal one space of your choosing? These would add so much more variety.
I had to get the treasure early. I don't think it's possible to get the gnome early - when I've seen it revealed with an orb it moved to another free space after I clicked it. The difficulty basically came from needing to corner the gnome without as many fights.
I love the non-vocal story telling that's never explained to you, like how the big purple slimes surround the warlock, or how the Lich is always in a corner, or how the Rat king has at least four rats around him, or even how the gargoyles come in pairs and even have their models face the other one
Also, I noticed the gnome won't give you the 10 if you discover it by orb, but then I seemed to find another one later. I guess the lore would be he gives you ten gold if you find his hiding place, and the orb is "cheating" so he doesn't give it to you and hides somewhere else
Actually, I'm pretty sure the gnome will always run to a random undiscovered tile if there are any left. Sometimes when you reveal an empty tile, you hear a higher pitched noise than usual. I noticed that the noise also always plays if you click a gnome revealed by an orb. I've also noticed that the gnome always seems to be the last empty tile I reveal. I think it's a reward for clearing pretty much the entire board.
1 heal left, no enemies, sadly I was short of clearing the last brick. I had like 6 or 7 coins. I was basically resetting until I got lucky with 2 chests and got 10 additional coins which allowed me to level up 3 times in a row at the start without having to waste heals and was able to get more hearts that way. I wanted to go for the gnome originally, but I think he appears on the last empty tile?
God that was great. I love minesweeper and after playing this I can finally rest. On my last lvl up I only had I life scroll thingy left and the feeling of calculating out how much do I needed and what monsters were still alive and realizing ”wait, i can win this” was awesome.
Really, really good. And I haven't seen the music being given too much credit yet. I've been having it on for hours at this point, while I'm on and off the game!
Brilliant game, such a smart way to rethink Minesweeper. Minor UX issues on mobile, and right-clicking is a pain as noted in other comments -- but THIS. IS. SO. SMART!

298 arrrggh so close!! Should I play another 10 times or what?!?!!
...4 hours later, I finally got it 😂😂

After tens of trying, i got 303 score :D
really good game btw. I liked it so much

I did it! Had to clear every single block and did it even though the gnome got revealed by the orb and I didn't get the free 10 gold
Got a clean 300! Very much enjoying the game, thanks Daniel!
This is so cool! I finally got a completely clear board/perfect score. Wooo!
A great spin on minesweeper, and I like how there's more and more patterns to discover that aid in solving systematically.

This game is the most addictive I've played in a while
liked the game a lot, got the hang of it after a few tries, should make varying difficulties
If you click on Jorge before he levels up, he does a dance
i tried it lol
I thought he was shaking his head "no" because he's not ready yet
Amazing game! It's very addictive!
Final Score: 185
This fucks hard. The music fucks hard. Mobile support would have me hooked on this.
303 gg! (cba)
Couple things:

It took several tries to get here. It turns out this is possible, too!
How hard was this? Just getting lucky and getting the free 10 pt gnome at the very beginning, or do you need even more early treasure?
I had to get the treasure early. I don't think it's possible to get the gnome early - when I've seen it revealed with an orb it moved to another free space after I clicked it.

Great catch. I never would of noticed the gargoyle. I see that the rats also point towards the kings column.

Nice game - my score was 193
302! OMG when am I going to get 303?
You may want to wait a couple weeks for the update... there is a case where the generator produces 1 less xp
Ah thx.
:(

That's a painful move which we all did...

well, you could've used heal and cleared the brick. isn't it random hit count from 1 to 4?
Yes, but I was trying to have a heal left at the end.
The gnome appearing on the last tile might be a reference to Fidel: dungeon rescue, where the gnome has a similar behaviour
Picking a corner after 11 hp was the best way for me to win the game!
So fun after you figure it out!!! I beat it finally, final score of 275
Very good game. Donated.
Would like to see a working version on my smartphone. It doesn't fit right now.
JAMAS pude terminar de entender como jugar el buscaminas jaja pero el arte y el lore son geniales en esta version!
ahhhh le voy agarrando la mano... es adictivo! XD
gane con 185 puntos, no sera mucho pero toi feliz jaja

A mine has been revealed by a new blue orb spawn
Really, really good. And I haven't seen the music being given too much credit yet. I've been having it on for hours at this point, while I'm on and off the game!
I forgot to double click
certified banger. really clever little game.
This is really fun, creative, and addictive!
Cool
